Imri Ganiel
Visiting Scholar
I am currently a volunteer at the Maoz Lab and a professional swimmer, training towards the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. Before joining the lab, I was an investment banking analyst at Barclays in Tel Aviv. I lived in Austin Texas for five years, during which I received a Bachelors of Science in Biochemistry and a Masters of Science in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin.
Although I have a degree in Biochemistry, I am fascinated by Biomedical Engineering. I was looking for exposure to the field and found the Maoz Lab on the TAU website. The experiments sounded interesting and at the forefront of the field, which encouraged me to apply.
I am working on a novel platform for studying Cardiomyocytes (heart cells), based on Ben's design. The project combines elements of Chemistry, Engineering, and Biology.
In the Fall of 2020, I hope to begin medical school in the United States.
Outside of the lab, by hobbies include obsessively watching TV and movies.
