Pol Jean-Mairet

Visiting Scientist

I am a Marie-Curie PhD candidate from the EU-funded BonePainIII program under the supervision of Prof. Meriem Lamghari. I am to develop a fully humanized microfluidic device using iPSC-derived sensory neurons and multicellular 3D cancer models to study pain in vitro.

I had the fantastic opportunity to join Prof. Ben Maoz´s lab as a visiting scientist, to learn how to work with hiPSCs and to differentiate sensory neurons in vitro.

I work on advanced 3D microfluidic chips to study bone pain and innervation, aiming to reduce animal testing and address this critical clinical need for humans. These models also have the potential to serve as platforms for personalized drug testing in the future.

My goal is to develop and spin-out a technology from the lab that will ultimately benefit patients.
